About The Museum:

The mission of the Ty Cobb Museum is to foster education and understanding to the broadest possible audience of the greatest baseball hitter of all time, Tyrus Raymond Cobb. This is accomplished by providing art and memorabilia, film, video, books and historical archives.

* Professionally designed, the museum features rare photographs and artifacts, including Cobb's 1907 American League batting champion award.

* Cobb Theater features stadium-style seating accented by a beautiful mural. A stirring video features the narration of Georgia broadcasting legend Larry Munson and interviews with Atlanta Braves' star Chipper Jones and ESPN baseball analyst Peter Gammons, along with rare footage and still photographs.

* The museum also houses the Franklin County Sports Hall of Fame. Charter inductees are Cobb, 1943 A.L. MVP Spud Chandler, Pro Bowl lineman Tony Jones, and All-American quarterback Dee Dowis
